For those wanting to learn more about Wheaton Academy football and Wheaton Academy as a whole, this page is designed to get you pointed in the right direction.

We made no bones about it: Wheaton Academy is home to an excellent football program. Ranked 4th in state in 4A football in Illinois in 2023 and state semifinalists, we compete in one of the toughest conferences in Illinois and our alumni are playing at the NCAA D1, D2, D3 and NAIA levels of college football. However, it is what takes place inside the heart, mind and soul of a Wheaton Academy football player that drives what we are about.

While we play good football and develop good players, eventually the days of playing football will eventually come to an end. The faith we develop in God and the leadership we learn from these days will be the foundation from which we will build our lives upon. If these things matter to you, then read on.

Few secondary schools in the region match the academic and co-curricular rigor of Wheaton Academy. Named an Exemplary High Performing School by the U.S. Department of Education, the highest honor bestowed, Wheaton Academy graduates go on well-prepared to excel in college and beyond.

Wheaton Academy football is a partner in the school’s pursuit of Relationship, Excellence and Service to the glory of God. We embrace the grit and perseverance, on and off the playing field, necessary for success in our craft and our faith, ingredients for a fruitful life long after the helmet is taken off.

Good leadership is a learned behavior and skill set. We use the language of leadership in how we coach and in the manner in which we structure the program. Seniors, for example, are the leaders of the team and have added responsibilities that strive to make sure no player is lost or misguided. Juniors are prepared to take on this leadership role. Freshmen and Sophomores are taught to follow, learn and be dedicated to work and grow. Everyone is encouraged to think more about their fellow teammate than themselves. We’re not perfect, but we do have a standard we all adhere to in our Dozen Demands.

Who do you want making a lifelong lasting impression on your son? According to the Reverend Billy Graham, a coach holds more sway and has more influence in the life of an athlete in one year than the average person does in their entire life. We believe we not only have the best football coaching staff in the state of Illinois in sheer coaching experience, but these men are character coaches, interested in developing a Christ-centered athlete.
